The cost of ignoring it

Access is routinely half the cost of facade work. Defaulting to full scaffold for distributed, low-density defects can double a project budget — and deferring works because "the scaffold makes it uneconomic" just lets the defects compound.

The capability, plainly

Some remedial work is hard to reach: high facades, atriums, lift shafts, under-bridge soffits, confined plant zones. The access decision — rope, EWP, mast climber, swing stage, scaffold — often determines project economics more than the repair itself. We treat access as an engineered, costed line item, not a default.

Difficult access — common questions

01 Is rope access as safe as scaffold?

Managed under IRATA systems, rope access has one of the best safety records of any work-at-height method — two-rope redundancy, certified technicians, documented rescue plans and supervision ratios. The relevant question for any job is which access method is right for the task density and duration, and that's an engineering and economics answer we show in the scope.

02 When does rope access actually save money?

Inspection, surveys and distributed repairs — sealant joints, isolated spalls, fixings, glazing details — where mobilisation is the dominant cost. Industry comparisons put rope access at a fraction of scaffold cost for this class of work. Dense repairs over whole elevations still favour scaffold or mast climbers; we cost the crossover honestly.

03 What about anchor points on our building?

We assess existing anchors for certification status and load path, and install engineer-designed anchors where the building lacks them — an asset that reduces the cost of every future facade access, not just ours.
