The cost of ignoring it
Access is routinely half the cost of facade work. Defaulting to full scaffold for distributed, low-density defects can double a project budget — and deferring works because "the scaffold makes it uneconomic" just lets the defects compound.
The capability, plainly
Some remedial work is hard to reach: high facades, atriums, lift shafts, under-bridge soffits, confined plant zones. The access decision — rope, EWP, mast climber, swing stage, scaffold — often determines project economics more than the repair itself. We treat access as an engineered, costed line item, not a default.
How we scope access
- Task density mapping — the defect schedule tells us how much work exists per elevation and zone
- Method comparison — access options costed against duration, disruption and safety requirements, shown side by side in the proposal
- Engineering — anchor design and certification, load assessments for suspended equipment, exclusion zone planning
- Safety systems — SWMS per method, rescue plans for rope work, permits and notifications handled
Where this shows up
Facade inspection and survey programs, sealant and joint replacement campaigns, isolated concrete repairs at height, gutter and roof plant zones, glazing and fixing checks, post-storm make-safes.
